Turkmenistan and Georgia discussed effective ways of cargo transportation and delivery

The online meeting was held between the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of foreign Affairs of Georgia David Zalkaliani. This is reported by the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The Ministers discussed cooperation on the development of joint transport and transit corridors. Special emphasis is placed on the activation of the project of the international transport corridor "Caspian sea - Black sea", including the regulatory part. The importance of the Lapis Lazuli project in the context of accelerating interregional trade and economic cooperation was also highlighted. The importance of uninterrupted transportation and supply through efficient use of highways and seaports was noted. In this regard, the need to hold a regular meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Georgian Commission on economic cooperation was expressed.

During the videoconference, they also discussed the possibilities of enhancing cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The parties stressed the need to continue inter-Ministerial and inter-sectoral consultations.
