Irma Nadirashvili, a member of Parliament from the European Georgia party, is collecting signatures of 30 deputies to file a lawsuit against the Alliance of patriots party in the constitutional court in order to prevent the party from participating in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Nadirashvili addressed the deputies with this initiative at the plenary session of the Parliament.

According to Nadirashvili, "Georgian dream" is responsible for the fact that "in Georgian politics there is a group that directly serves the interests of the Kremlin and instead of being in the "ostrich pose", it called on the deputies of the ruling party to take part in collecting signatures.

"We, European Georgia, are taking the initiative to appeal to the constitutional court, and the signatures of 30 deputies are enough for this. We demand the removal of the "patriot Alliance" from the elections. There will be 20 of our signatures, and I appeal to the majority to add the remaining signatures, and if this team is not your continuation, then we will appeal to the constitutional court and remove this political group from the elections," Irma Nadirashvili said.

Deputy speaker of the Parliament Georgy Volsky told the media that at this stage the issue of removing the "Alliance of patriots" from the elections sounds serious.

According to the Russian Internet publication Dossier, the Alliance of patriots received election advice and money from the Kremlin. The publication also names the amount. According to the newspaper, the party demanded $ 8 million from Moscow to Finance the 2020 elections.

On July 31, the Prosecutor's office rejected the claim of "European Georgia "to launch an investigation against the "Alliance of patriots". The case of financing the "Alliance of patriots" from Russia was transferred to the state audit Service of Georgia.
