The Ezidi congress elected a new president
On August 15, 2020, Moscow hosted the most important event of the all — Russian public organization "Ezidi Congress" - an extraordinary conference. According to the Charter of the "Ezidi Congress", its first Chairman was elected by The General meeting of founders for a period of 5 years. In 2016, Professor Samvel Kochoi was elected Chairman. Before that, for several months, he headed the organizing Committee for the establishment of the all — Russian public organization of Yazidis of Russia, which eventually received its current name-the Ezidi Congress. In the future, according to the Charter, the President should be elected from among the members of the Organization for a period of 5 years by the delegates of the conference themselves. The conference started at 14.00 Moscow time and continued until 16.00. Members and supporters of the "Ezidi Congress" from Kamchatka to Kaliningrad, from Chelyabinsk to Stavropol took part in its online work. After the election of the President and Secretary of the conference, its participants approved the early termination of the powers of the Chairman of the "Ezidi Congress", Professor Samvel Kochoi, and proceeded to discuss the candidacy of a new President. As a result of the discussion and the vote that followed, Ruslan Javoyan was elected Chairman of the all-Russian public organization "Ezidi Congress".
The conference also saw by-elections of members Of the Board of the Yazidi Congress. Mirzaevich Sloyan was elected as a new member of the Board.
At the end of the conference, Professor Samvel Kochoi and the participants of the conference congratulated Ruslan Javoyan on his election to the responsible position of Chairman of the first and only all-Russian public organization of Yazidis in Russia, and wished him success in his work for the benefit of Yazidis in Russia.
