Yazidi Spiritual Council Issues Media Statement

The Yazidi Spiritual Council has released a media statement saying the ceremonies (30-31tirmeh E'yda Heciya (Lalish)) in the summer square this year will be suspended due to conditions in the country due to the spread of the Corona virus.

The Spiritual Council of the Yezidis said in a statement, “in view of the exceptional circumstances in which Iraq in general and Kurdistan in particular, and to preserve the life and health of our sons and daughters, and in accordance with government decisions due to the curfew, religious ceremonies have been suspended. " 

In this statement, the Supreme Spiritual Council of the Yezidis wished: “The state of health and safety throughout the world will improve, and especially in our country, and that the will of good will prevail over this epidemic, which has caused damage to the entire world. We hope that the world will achieve a complete recovery from this dangerous epidemic and for the benefit of all mankind. "

The Council also wished “health and wellbeing continue, we hope that in the coming holidays we can revive and implement our decrees after the whole world and our country celebrate the victory over this dangerous epidemic”.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kurdistan previously announced the closure of all religious sites and the suspension of all religious ceremonies and rituals as a precaution to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and save the lives of citizens.
