Demographic changes in the rural area of RAS al-ain. Villages belonging to the Yazidi community are facing demographic changes after they were partially abandoned during the war. Villages were attacked and looted all livestock was stolen fields were burned in addition and their property was stolen.

Sources in the Syrian organization for human rights reported that members of the Sultan Murad faction destroyed and looted a cemetery belonging to Yazidis in the village of Yan tamer, East of RAS al-ain.

On the other hand, the factions are resettling the families of ISIS fighters loyal to THEM in these villages, in addition to other areas under their control. This spring, dozens of families were relocated to the village Merits, the largest of these villages.

In the Eastern rural area of RAS al-Ayn, there are more than ten villages inhabited by Yazidis who were forced to flee because of the military operation.

The number of Yazidis is about 1000 people, geographically distributed in Merikis, Jan Tamer, Lazka, Shukria, Java, Dara, the tomb of Sheikh Hussein, Metul, bir Noah and al-Hamidiya.

Many villages in the Western rural area of RAS al-Ayn, such as al-Asadiya, Khirbet Banat and Khirbet ghazal, also fall under the control of factions that practice all kinds of human rights violations after forcing indigenous peoples to leave their areas.
