Political parties of Georgia collect donations: who is bigger? – data for the second quarter of 2023
In the second quarter of 2023 (April-June), Georgian political parties received a total of GEL 453,336 (about $175 thousand) in donations.
The opposition party "Lelo for Georgia" collected the most – GEL 218,300.
Next in the top five are:
"Georgian Dream" – GEL 108,000;
United National Movement – GEL 90,790;
Christian Conservative Party of Georgia – GEL 9,500;
"Conservative Movement" – GEL 6,550.
The Labor Party leads in the number of transfers – 44 times, although in all cases the amounts were small.
The ruling party had only three donors. "Two and the main ones – Otar Putkaradze and David Devadze – are business partners of the former deputy of Batumi Sakrebulo Nukri Dolidze, their joint company Bondi-2009 won a tender worth more than 35 million GEL over the same period," notes (https://www.transparency.ge/ge/post/politikuri-shemocirulebebis-kvartaluri-sainpormacio-biuleteni-n4) Transparency International Georgia.
In response to the request, the State Audit Service provided information on 32 individuals who made donations to 11 political parties. Four of them did not have enough income to make a donation. Two of them were donors to the "National Movement", two were donors to the "Conservative Movement".
