From today, Yazidis celebrate the Rojie Ezid— the main fast of Yazidis, which lasts for three days, and then begins a holiday dedicated to God the Creator. The fast starts on Tuesday morning. On this day, all Yazidis who will keep a fast get up before dawn, after washing and prayer, they start light Pasiv food, then they are not allowed to eat and drink until sunset. On the fourth day, which falls on the Friday of the first week of the month Eve (December) according to the Eastern calendar, Aida Ezid is celebrated.

Aida Ezid is a celebration of the creation of the world, which is celebrated by Yazidis in winter, in the second half of December, on the third Friday of the month. According to Yazidi mythology, it was on the first day of the week that the Earth was created. The teaching of Yezidism says that God created the world with the help of seven angels. At the head of these angels, after God, are Malake Taus (Peacock Angel) and the Sun. These three forces, with the help of angels, began the creation of the World on Saturday and completed it on Sunday. On Monday, the Earth received water and air. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Yazidis hold a fast in honor of God who created the World. During the days of fasting, they eat only in the evening (before sunset) "fitar" and at night (before dawn) "paşîv". The fast should coincide with the location of the moon when it is clearly visible in the sky. One of the characteristic features of Yazidism is the preservation of cleanliness, so Yazidis carefully clean their homes before the holiday. Then they start cooking festive food. Before sunset, a share of "şîv-paşîv" is allocated from the common meal for deceased relatives and given to neighbors or needy families. According to Yazidis, after sunset all roads and gates of the otherworld are closed, and the food that the souls of the deceased are waiting for there will not be able to reach them. Before sunset, all family members wash, pray, sit down together at the table to have a "fitar" dinner, saying the words: "Oh, Great Lord, accept my service!". So the solemn service as a fast is held all three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). On Thursday, after dinner, under the leadership of the sheikhs, everyone gathers in those houses where someone has died during the year and expresses condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased. On Friday, folk festivals are held, sometimes accompanied by music, earlier in the day Yazidis went to visit each other and celebrated this day quite cheerfully. On this day, quarreled relatives or fellow villagers forgive each other all insults and reconcile.
