All educational and educational institutions across Georgia have resumed their work as usual today. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the interdepartmental coordinating council for the fight against coronavirus on May 11.

Schools, universities, colleges and kindergartens will operate according to the same system as before the Easter holidays: some conduct classes remotely, others face-to-face; after detecting cases of coronavirus in institutions, restrictions are taken point-by-point.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education of Georgia said that it had taken all measures to protect the health of schoolchildren. Before the end of the holidays, all teachers were tested for coronavirus, and the classrooms were disinfected.

"Despite the increased morbidity statistics, all measures are provided in schools to ensure that students return to school and continue their studies in classrooms," the ministry assured.

With the resumption of studies, the ministry promises to tighten control over the observance of security measures in educational institutions.

Parents can still transfer the child to "remote". To do this, they must notify the school administration and register on a special website of the Ministry of Education.

On May 13, the country ended the weekend, introduced on May 4 due to the pandemic. In this regard, from today, all state institutions, as well as public transport – buses, subways and minibuses-have started working.
