Nadia’s initiative continues its emergency response activities in Sinjar, providing food supplies to the most vulnerable families in the region. Today, the Nadi Initiative distributed food and necessities to low-income families in Sinjar for the new year celebration (Charshama Sere Sale). Despite the risks, the Nadi Initiative continues to help prevent the spread of a dangerous virus. Nadia Murad herself posted on her  facebook page : “Yazidis around the world are celebrating the Yazidi New Year, Cejna Sere Sale. I extend a very happy new year to my fellow Yazidis. I wish this new year brings peace, prosperity, and good health to all those around the world. I hope that when this pandemic ends, it will open the door to a brighter future for all. Please celebrate safely.“ 

On the 15th, Yazidis all over the world celebrated the new year. Despite this holiday, Yazidis stayed at home and did not violate the decree of the Ministry of health of the Kurdistan regional government to prevent an outbreak of coronavirus in the region.
