According to the CCM, the number of IDPs currently in Kurdistan is 878,869, while the number of refugees from Syria, Turkey, Iran and Palestine is 268,022.

The report also States that. Of the total number of IDPs, only 208,875 live in more than 28 camps in Duhok, Erbil and Suleimani provinces, while the rest live in host communities or informal settlements in all four Kurdistan provinces. The average daily cost of IDPs and refugees housed in Kurdistan is us $ 2,700,000, which is more than us $ 81,000,000 per month and us $ 982,000,000 per year, which is just under us $ 1 billion.

JCC data also indicate that 40 percent of IDPs are Sunni Arabs, 30 percent are members of the yazidi  religious minority, 13 percent are Kurds displaced from disputed territories in Iraq, seven percent are Christians, and 10 percent are various others. Ethnic and religious minorities, including Turkmen, Shiites, Kakai, Shabaks and Armenians.
