The Georgian authorities have expanded the list of countries whose citizens need to pass a coronavirus test to enter the territory of the state. The corresponding government decree is published on the website of the legislative bulletin.

The entry rules have been simplified for travelers from Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq. Now citizens and residents of these countries will be able to enter Georgia with only a negative result of a PCR test made no later than 72 hours before the trip – they will not be required to provide a vaccination passport or serve quarantine. On the third day of their stay in Georgia, they will have to take a PCR test again at their own expense.

So far, such rules have been applied to the following countries: EU countries, Israel, Turkey, Switzerland, Norway, the United States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Canada, Japan, Kuwait, China, South Korea, Oman, Moldova, San Marino, Monaco, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, Andorra, North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Also, almost all foreigners vaccinated against COVID-19 can come to Georgia. The only exception is people who have visited India in the last two weeks.

All foreign visitors must have medical insurance with them when entering Georgia, which, if necessary, will cover the costs of treatment of coronavirus infection.
