Several organizations, federations, unions and committees in Syria have issued a statement about recent violations against Yazidis in the Syrian city of Afrin after the city of Sere Kanye also witnessed violations against humanity, specifically the Yazidi minority.

The statement read:

As in Sri Kanya, the Yazidis are almost exterminated in Afrin. Terrorist groups, consisting of mercenaries of the so-called Syrian National Army, continue to commit the most terrible violations and crimes against the Syrian people and the Yazidi minority in various areas that they control and occupy in Syria. To bring about demographic change in the border areas they occupy by expelling the indigenous population.

We, human rights and civil society organizations, subscribe to this statement below and call on all human rights organizations and relevant countries, especially the United States, the Russian Federation, the European Union and the United Nations, to intervene urgently to put an end to this criminal policy against humanity, which rises to the level of ethnic cleansing and genocide and what is happening in the Yazidi village of Basufan in Afrin, clearly exposing the complicity of the international community. We demand with this appeal to take measures to save the remaining residents of the Yazidi village of Basufan, linked to the occupied city of Afrin, from the campaign of ethnic cleansing to which they are subjected by the Levant Legion faction.
