The volume of money transfers to Georgian commercial banks using electronic systems increased by 8% from January to November 2020. Money transfers to Georgian commercial banks using electronic systems in November 2020 increased by 12.5% and amounted to $ 169.9 million, according to the website of the National Bank of Georgia.

Most of the currency came from russia. The volume of money transfers from the Russian Federation in November 2020 amounted to more than $ 31.8 million – about 19% of the total volume of money transfers to Georgian commercial banks using electronic transfer systems. But this is 16% less compared to the same period last year.

The top six countries also include Italy, Greece, the United States, Israel and Ukraine.

The volume of money transfers to Georgian commercial banks using electronic systems from January to November 2020 increased by 8%, compared to the same period last year, and amounted to more than $ 1686.3 million.

Russia is the leader in terms of money transfers to Georgia. The total volume of money transfers from the Russian Federation in January-November amounted to more than $ 323.2 million – about 19.2% of the total volume of money transfers to Georgian commercial banks using electronic transfer systems. Since the beginning of 2020, money transfers from the Russian Federation have been received by 16.1% less than in the same period last year.

The top six countries also include Italy, Greece, the United States, Israel and Turkey.

The growth rate slowed down

The growth trend of remittances continues, but the growth rate has decreased. After growth in June by 17.8%, in July-by 22.1%, in August-by 25.8%, and in September-by 28.7%, in October the growth rate decreased to 18.6%, and in November – 12.5%. Remittances declined by 42.3% year-on-year in April, but declined by 9.6% in May.

How much currency was sent from Georgia

About $ 21.9 million was transferred abroad from Georgia in November 2020, which is 0.1% less than in the same period of 2019.

Since the beginning of 2020, more than $ 222.2 million has been transferred abroad from Georgia, which is 4.9% more than in January-November 2019.
