Nadia’s initiative and USAID are working to restore Sinjar's critical zones
The city of Sinjar, after an ISIS attack on Yazidi civilians in 2014, left behind a significant amount of rubble of destroyed buildings and homes of residents, making it difficult for the Yazidi population to return to their places of residence. The local municipality lacks the resources and capacity to address this problem. Therefore, Nadia’s initiative is working with USAID to remove rubble at two locations in the city center. With USAID funding, access to these important public spaces will be restored.
