Georgia has worsened its position in the competitiveness Index

The rating of Georgia has improved compared with the previous year, marking the best historical result of 51.2 points. According to the Global sustainable Competitiveness Index, Georgia has reached a historic high of points, ranking 37th out of 180 countries, according to a study by the SolAbility organization.

According to the Ministry of economy and sustainable development of Georgia, this indicator ranks the country first in the world for a seven-year improvement in the rating.

The sustainable competitiveness index combines five aggregates with 127 indicators. It is based on specialized research conducted by the UN, the world Bank, the IMF, the OECD, and various research centers around the world.

The rating of Georgia has improved compared with the previous year, marking the best historical result of 51.2 points. In 2019, Georgia ranked 35th with 48.8 points.

In the new ranking, the country is ahead of such leading economies as China, Singapore, Australia, Israel, Greece, Malta, Chile, Cyprus and others.

Compared to 2012, Georgia ranks first in the world in terms of improving its rating positions. So, according to the GSC index 2013, which shows the period up to 2013, Georgia was one of the lagging countries in the world, and ranked 95th between Papua New Guinea and Nepal, and today the country has improved its position by 58 points.

According to the study, out of five evaluation criteria, the country showed the highest result in the direction of government efficiency, scoring 59.3 points, ranking 29th among the top 30 countries in the world. In this Index, Georgia is ahead of developed countries such as Spain, Italy, Singapore, France, Greece, South Korea, Norway and others.
