In Georgia, the volume of output decreased, but the turnover of the business sector increased

According to data for the 3rd quarter of 2020 published by the National statistics service of Georgia (Sakstat), compared to the same period last year, the turnover of the business sector in Georgia increased by 0.6 percent and amounted to 29.2 billion lari, although the production indicator decreased by 8.8 percent and finally amounted to 11.6 billion.

According to Sakstat, in the 3rd quarter of 2020, 57.1 percent is accounted for by large businesses, 17.7 percent – by medium-sized businesses, and 25.2 percent – by small businesses. The situation is slightly different in the case of full production: large businesses account for 40.3 percent of production, medium – sized businesses-27.6 percent, and small businesses-32.1 percent.

Based on statistics, the largest share of employed people is in trade – 27.5 %, 13% in the processing industry, 11.1% in healthcare, 9.6 % in construction, 8.1% in transport and logistics, 4.8% in the food industry and 25.9% in other sectors.
