An agreement reached between the opposition and the ruling party of Georgia on the reform of the electoral system ,which "opens the way to an electoral system acceptable to a wider range of society for the parliamentary elections in October 2020".

"Georgia has taken another positive step in the process of successful democratic development," the statement said.

"The changes agreed upon by the parties will make a significant contribution to the further development of political pluralism and the demonstration of different ideas and beliefs in the political system."

"The fact that all parties have finally demonstrated their willingness to make concessions is encouraging.»

"All parties should play a constructive role in implementing the agreed changes and take into account the recommendations of the ODIHR/OSCE election observation Mission in 2018."
