Moscow called the accusations of cyber attacks against Georgia" orchestrated stuffing"

The Russian foreign Ministry called information about Moscow's involvement in large-scale cyber attacks against Georgia a" staged information throw-in". The corresponding statement was published on the website of the Russian foreign Ministry on Thursday.

As reported earlier today in the Georgian foreign Ministry, an investigation conducted jointly with international partners found that the cyber attack on government and commercial websites of the country in October 2019 was organized by the Main intelligence Department of the General staff of the Russian armed forces.

Statements condemning the cyber attack were distributed by the UK and the US. Us Secretary of state Mike Pompeo called on Russia to stop such actions in Georgia and elsewhere. Other Western countries also condemned Russia's actions against Georgia: Lithuania, Estonia, Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Sweden.

Moscow also expressed regret that " Georgia itself does not want to abandon the line of demonizing Russia and learn lessons from last year's crisis."

A large-scale cyber attack in Georgia occurred on October 28, 2019. Hundreds of websites, including a web portal and the internal network of public television in Georgia, have had problems. In addition, several private TV channels and various web portals could not be broadcast.

The web page of the Georgian presidential administration was also attacked. When opening the page, a photo of ex-President Mikheil Saakashvili appeared with the caption I'll be back (I'll be back).
