Will a curfew be imposed in Georgia again?
Over the past two days, the dynamics of the number of people infected with coronavirus and those recovering from it has significantly worsened. This caused a certain panic in the society, which is wondering whether certain restrictions will be re-imposed in Georgia, including a curfew.
Doctor of the Tbilisi infectious diseases hospital Alexander Goginava believes that there is nothing alarming in the deterioration of data dynamics over the past two days, although it deserves attention.
"According to statistics, it is impossible to say directly that the dynamics of recovering patients has deteriorated in one day, since recovery takes two to three weeks. At this stage, most of the old patients recovered. There are still new patients who were admitted within the next two or three weeks and, of course, have not recovered yet, "Goginava told the newspaper Rezonansi.
As for the increase in the number of infected people, according to the doctor, they are associated with a local explosion in Gardabani, as well as with cases brought by trailer drivers.
"Therefore, at this stage, we can not talk about a particular deterioration in the epidemiological situation, but this growth requires attention, and we need to observe this in dynamics and conduct in - depth studies in the centers of epidurals," Goginava said.
According to him, if mass studies are not carried out in places where there are outbreaks, this will certainly worsen the epidemiological situation, but the doctor thinks that, as in previous cases, a large-scale survey of the population will be conducted in a specific region and there will not be a wide spread in other places.
"I believe that the epidemiological situation will not deteriorate so radically as to become the basis for the introduction of a curfew or any other such radical restrictions," the doctor said.
