Tengiz Ilyich Kotoyan was born on July 23, 2003 in Novorossiysk. His father Ilya Faroyan played for the Russian national Boxing team and is a master of sports of the USSR. At the age of 11, Tengiz began Boxing under his father. Performs in the weight category up to 54 kg.
Sporting achievement:
- Winner of the championship of Russia in 2017
- Winner of the southern Federal district Boxing championship (2017, 2018, 2019)

Tengiz, tell me why you chose Boxing ? Who brought you to this sport?
As my father the master of sports of the USSR, almost had no choice, he brought me to the gym to workout. I liked to train from the very first day.
You recently won the Nikiforov-Denisov Cup, one of the most prestigious Boxing tournaments. What are your impressions of the victory ?
Those positive emotions that you experience during the victory. And the most important thing for me is that I got into the Russian national team. This fact gives confidence that my work and perseverance will always bear fruit.
What would you like to achieve in Boxing ?
I would like to become a world champion and win places at the Olympic games.
What are your plans for the future ?
In plans to get to the main structure of the national team of Russia on Boxing and to act on superiority of Europe. I hope I can do it.
What would you wish for your Yazidi peers who also play sports ?
I wish my peers-always go, persistently to their goal, keep hard work, and do not pay attention to any difficulties and defeats.
