Former US Ambassador to Georgia Ian Kelly once again harshly criticized the agreement drawn up between the State Security Service of Georgia and the relevant service of Belarus.

"Where are you going, the Georgian government? You have withdrawn from the agreement reached through the mediation of the EU and are making efforts to this agreement. Prove to us that you do not link your fate with a bloody, authoritarian regime. Exit the contract. Show that you are with the West, and not with Putin's East, " the diplomat wrote on Twitter.

Recall that on August 1, an agreement was signed that regulates cooperation and interaction between the KGB and the SBG. The document was developed back in 2016, however, the approval procedures were delayed for five years.

Within the framework of the document, Georgia and Belarus agree on the exchange of information, assistance in combating crimes against state security, terrorism and cyberterrorism, organized crime, illegal arms trafficking, corruption, disclosure of classified information, etc. The forms of cooperation provide for the fulfillment of requests and the transfer of personal data, joint events, exchange of experience, etc.
