Coronavirus in Georgia: full list of restrictions after the emergency/update on may 29

Since may 23, Georgia no longer has a state of emergency, but the government has maintained some restrictions

In order to avoid an increase in the number of people infected with coronavirus after the state of emergency was lifted, the government of Georgia maintained some restrictions and bans. This was made possible by amendments to the law "on public health" approved by the Parliament. Now the government has the right to impose restrictions after the state of emergency is lifted.

The amendments will be valid until July 15.

List of main current restrictions:

- in closed premises, in public institutions, offices and shops, masks and social distance are mandatory;

- in the quarantine remain Tetritskaro district and two villages in Bolnisi district: Museveni and Geta;

- public transport launched on may 29;

- restaurants, hotels, clothing and footwear stores, shopping malls, gyms will be gradually opened from June;

- restaurants can operate take-out, clothing and footwear stores can trade online;

- taxi drivers must wear masks, there can't be more than two passengers in a taxi, they must sit in the back seat;

- cultural and sporting events are prohibited;

- it is forbidden to operate casinos and sweepstakes, except online.

Transport

- international land, sea and air traffic is prohibited;

- direct international scheduled flights are prohibited, except for Charter flights that bring Georgian citizens from abroad;

- railway passenger transport is prohibited;

Public life

- it is forbidden to gather more than 10 people at traditional social events (weddings, commemorations, anniversaries, and so on);

- trainings, conferences and seminars should be conducted remotely;

- the educational process in schools and universities is carried out remotely;

- the University has the right to conduct examinations, laboratory and practical work without registration, but taking into account the recommendations;

- cultural events are held remotely;

- mass sporting events, training camps and competitions are prohibited.

Economic activity

- cafes, bars, restaurants and canteens are not allowed to operate remotely;

- footwear and clothing stores are prohibited;

- the operation of shopping centers and markets, except for agricultural ones, is prohibited;

- organization and holding of sports, cultural and entertainment events is prohibited;

- currency exchange points are prohibited;

-sports and Wellness activities and procedures are prohibited.

The interagency coordinating Council promptly assesses the situation and develops new recommendations and restrictions. According to the latest data published on the government website stopcov.ge  for example, the number of detected cases of COVID-19 infection at the moment is 738 people, 573 of them have recovered, and 12 have died. 3076 citizens are under quarantine.
