After the state of emergency was lifted in Georgia, residents of the country are allowed to hold weddings with a small number of guests-no more than 10 people. This was stated by the head of the National center for disease control and public health of Georgia Amiran Gamkrelidze on the air of Rustavi 2 TV channel.

Since may 23, Georgia has lifted the state of emergency that has been in effect for two months due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus. Along with the state of emergency, the curfew, restrictions on demonstrations and some other bans no longer apply. However, the ban on gatherings of more than 10 people related to social events, such as weddings, birthdays, holidays, commemorations, and so on, remains in force.

The first case of coronavirus infection in Georgia was recorded on February 26. To prevent the spread of the disease, a state of emergency has been imposed in Georgia since March 21. Since March 31, quarantine restrictions have been tightened.

In total, the coronavirus was confirmed in 723 people in Georgia. Of these, 495 patients recovered – more than 68% of the total number of cases registered in the country. Currently, 216 cases remain active. 12 people with COVID-19 died.
