On may 11, Georgia begins another stage of lifting restrictions imposed due to the threat of the spread of coronavirus.

According to the government's plan:

Tbilisi will be opened on may 11. From Monday, all citizens will be able to freely enter and leave the capital. Until now, this required a special pass.

On may 11, all types of production will open, as well as all types of retail and wholesale facilities that have an entrance from the street. Restrictions still apply to footwear and clothing stores, as well as to large shopping malls.

From may 11, some recreational areas will start functioning.

On may 14, two more cities will open – Rustavi and Gardabani. Together with Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi, they have been closed for entry and exit since April 15.

On may 18, the Marneuli district will open, where a strict quarantine regime has been in effect since March 23. Prime Minister George Gakharia explained that a certain number of tests have yet to be carried out in this municipality among the population, so its opening is taking place later than Tbilisi.

Restrictions are lifted throughout the country, with the exception of municipalities and administrative divisions that are declared strict quarantine zones. Companies that are allowed to resume operations must strictly follow the recommendations of the Ministry of health.
