"United national movement" invited the Prime Minister to the Parliament for answers about the social situation of citizens, but the ruling party suggested waiting for the end of the state of emergency.

The former ruling United national movement party has recently been actively criticizing the existing anti-crisis plan, claiming that it is aimed at helping people who are not really in need. The reason for such claims was the condition for granting assistance to the self-employed, who must submit a certificate from a legal entity to confirm their income.

The opposition points out that in this way a significant part of the population, who either worked for individuals or for themselves, found themselves without assistance.

What does the opposition want now

As stated by Tinatin Bokuchava, a member of the national Movement, the party has accumulated specific questions on the topic of assistance to the population and they have decided to ask for answers in accordance with the procedure prescribed by the Constitution of Georgia.

According to the main law of the country, a group of deputies has the right to ask questions to the Prime Minister or any Minister within interpolyatsii, and those required in the Parliament to provide answers to these questions with updates.

"Two times when the state of emergency was declared, George Gakharia did not come to the Parliament, but sent his representative. Now the Constitution obliges him to come to the Parliament and personally answer our questions, " Bokuchava said.

According to her, they have already made the questions addressed Gajaria.

Gakharia will come, but not immediately

Until may 22, while the state of emergency lasts, the Georgian Parliament is on vacation, and after that it will answer all questions, according to the ruling party.

"First we need to decide whether the state of emergency will be extended. This will depend on how much the risks have been reduced and how much it will be possible to remove all restrictions by this time. If the state of emergency is not extended, the Parliament will continue to work as usual. If it is extended, the Parliament will work in an emergency session when the issue of interpelation cannot be raised, " MP Mamuka Mdinaradze said.

At the same time, he noted that the ruling party also has questions for the Prime Minister, and Gahariya will have to come with a report on the work done during the crisis.

Government anti-crisis assistance

In total, Georgia will receive assistance from international partners in the amount of $ 3 billion to combat the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.

The government of Georgia has already developed an anti-crisis plan, according to which the authorities will provide financial assistance to the unemployed, socially vulnerable, people with disabilities, self-employed and large families.

A separate plan is designed to help businesses that the government will offer special tax and credit incentives to.

In addition, the Georgian authorities will soon present a plan to help tourism and agriculture.

At the same time, the main focus this time will be on increasing and re-profiling local production.
