According to Hristo Gadjev, Chairman of the Bulgarian Parliament's Defense Committee, a number of issues were discussed at the meeting with the Georgian parliamentary delegation, including Georgia's integration into NATO, defense and security.

Hristo Gadjeva said that the Black Sea submarine cable was also discussed at the meeting and it was noted that Bulgaria is likely to join the project.

"We discussed very many issues related to both NATO integration and bilateral integration of Georgia and Bulgaria, not only in the defense and security sphere, depending on the specifics of our committee, but also in different directions, be it economy, energy or other opportunities. In the defense sphere, we discussed various joint exercises and increased interoperability between Bulgaria and Georgia, we also talked about the planned visit of the defense delegation to Georgia and coordinated cooperation with the Georgian authorities. Together with Turkey and Romania, we are starting a joint exercise in the western Black Sea and we discussed the possibility of Georgia's participation in this operation if it is desirable for the country, including for the Georgian economy, as free movement of maritime and ferry transportation is key for both countries. We also see an opportunity to support you in Coast Guard training. This initiative, which is currently under discussion, belongs to Bulgaria. Regarding the link between economy and energy, we talked about Bulgaria's participation in the Black Sea submarine cable project that was signed in Bucharest. Probably, like Hungary and Romania, we will also join this project", said Hristo Gadjev.
