Juansher Burchuladze met with the new Czech Ambassador

Georgian Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze met with the new Czech Ambassador to Georgia Petr Kubernat. At the meeting, the Defense Minister congratulated the Czech diplomat on his appointment as Ambassador and wished him success.

The sides discussed the recommendation of the European Commission to grant Georgia the status of an EU candidate. The Czech Republic's support to Georgia on the path of Western integration was noted, particularly the political and practical cooperation between the countries in the area of defense and security.

The Defense Minister drew attention to the participation of Czech observers in the EU Observer Mission, as well as the participation of Czech expert in the initiatives envisaged by the NATO-Georgia Substantive Package (SNGP).

Dzhuansher Burchuladze paid special attention to the fruitful bilateral defense cooperation between Georgia and the Czech Republic and spoke about the measures envisaged in the plan of bilateral cooperation between the agencies, as well as joint participation of Czech and Georgian military in international military exercises. The Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation at the strategic level and invited his Czech counterpart to Georgia.
