Georgian economy Minister Natia Turnava took part in the opening ceremony of a new plant for the production of copper and aluminum wires in Tbilisi on July 15. Information about this was posted on the website of the state program "Produce in Georgia".

It is reported that more than 100 people were employed at the plant. The enterprise was built by a Turkish company that invested 15 million lari (about $4.9 million). State support was also provided.

"The new enterprise is very high — tech and competitive, and, most importantly, it exports its products," Turnava said at the opening.

It is reported that the plant is planned to employ up to 250 people at full load. It can process up to 12,000 tons of aluminum or copper per year.

It is worth noting that the construction of the plant began in February 2018. A plot of 9,5 thousand square meters was allocated for it.
