Brussels hosts meetings on EU enlargement report recommendations

Chaired by Gennady Arveladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Georgian delegation visited Brussels to discuss the 2023 EU enlargement report recommendations.

The thematic meetings focused on free cargo turnover, industrial policy, freedom of enterprise founding and services, state procurement issues, competitiveness, agriculture development, climate changes, food safety, and veterinary and phytosanitary policies.

EU officials clarified the expectations related to the steps that Georgia, as a candidate country, should take to demonstrate further progress.

The Georgian delegation reconfirmed that Georgia would continue to implement the recommendations. The relevant progress will be reflected in the upcoming EU report scheduled for the end of this year.
