"We can clearly tell the population that the price of bread will not increase due to the change of tariff on commercial gas, there are no prerequisites for this", stated Levan Davitashvili, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of Georgia.

As Davitashvili explained, there is a price change in the commercial part of gas and it is not a regulated tariff, it is a commercial sector that depends on the prices of oil products on international markets.

"It does not affect the population directly, it indirectly affects inflation. The price of gas fluctuates and during the year we have had significant reductions, larger reductions than we are now expected to increase since the beginning of January. So the effect of the reduction has already affected the economy", Davitashvili noted.

The Minister once again emphasized that this does not concern the bread industry.

"There is also an agreement in this regard that large baking enterprises have special conditions, i.e. we do not have other prerequisites for raising bread prices, including those based on the gas price. We have also assessed the impact on inflation, it is insignificant", said Deputy Prime Minister.
