Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joshua Huck.

The meeting held at the Government Administration reviewed the agenda of the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States of America and discussed steps to be taken to strengthen and deepen the existing cooperation in various areas.

Irakli Garibashvili and Joshua Huck discussed Georgia's progress on the path of European integration. Joshua Huck congratulated the Head of Government on the positive recommendation of the European Commission. As the Prime Minister noted, the country is waiting for a positive decision of the European Council on granting candidate status. According to him, EU integration is one of the main priorities of the Georgian government's foreign policy.

Regional security issues were also among the issues discussed. Irakli Garibashvili and Joshua Huck exchanged views in this direction. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of peaceful resolution of conflicts and joining efforts in the face of global challenges.

Security and humanitarian situation in the occupied territories of Georgia were discussed at the meeting.

Prime Minister thanked Joshua Huck for the open support of the United States of America on the path of sovereignty, territorial integrity and European integration of Georgia.

Robin Dunnigan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Revaz Javelidze, Head of the Government Administration attended the meeting.
