Natia Turnava met with the EBRD Managing Director of Financial Institutions and members of the Board of Directors
Acting President of the National Bank Natia Turnava met with Francis Malizh, Managing Director of Financial Institutions of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and members of the Board of Directors. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Caucasus Region of the EBRD Alkis Drakinos.
During the meeting the parties discussed the long-term cooperation of the National Bank of Georgia and commercial banks with the EBRD, current and future projects, as well as the achieved results. The leading role of the EBRD in the development of the financial sector of Georgia was also emphasized.
As Natia Turnava noted at the meeting, the National Bank appreciates and welcomes the EBRD initiatives in the development of the financial sector of Georgia.
"The National Bank has been closely and actively cooperating with the EBRD for many years. I would especially like to mention the successful cooperation with the EBRD Treasury, with which the EBRD has shared its experience with the countries where the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development operates within the framework of the project being implemented. I am glad that Georgia and the National Bank have set an example for these countries in this regard" - noted Natia Turnava.
In his turn, the Managing Director of EBRD Financial Institutions expressed readiness that the Bank will continue to support important reforms in the financial sector and provide technical assistance.
