A march against child marriage will be held in Tbilisi

On November 25 at 15:00 hours a march against child marriage will be held in Tbilisi. Thus, the Women's Movement together with its supporters will protest against the practice of early and forced marriages.

The march will start at the Republic Square and will end at the Parliament of Georgia.

"The state does not protect children. The government is responsible for the fact that child marriages exist. The state is not fighting pedophilia!

We, all of us together, those who want to change this cruel reality, must take effective steps now and strongly demand an effective response from the state. Children cannot protect themselves, we must protect the children!" - stated in a statement by the event organizers.

The march, organized by the Women's Movement, will be attended by activists of the Azerbaijani community and experts working in this field. The organizers expect "all those for whom children, their life, development and happiness are important".
