Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with the President of the Federal Council of the Republic of Austria Claudia Arpa.
According to the press service of the Georgian Prime Minister, the close cooperation between the countries, positive recommendations of the European Commission and important steps taken by Georgia on its way to full membership in the European Union were discussed.
The positive recommendations of the European Commission to the European Council regarding granting candidate status to Georgia were discussed at the meeting.
As the Prime Minister noted, this recommendation is a clear recognition of Georgia's intensive work and the results achieved, as well as the fact that Georgia is taking consistent steps towards EU integration.
Irakli Garibashvili expressed hope that the Republic of Austria will continue to support Georgia on the path of European integration. During the conversation, attention was paid to the close friendly relations between Georgia and the Republic of Austria. The sides discussed in which direction the cooperation can be further deepened.
Prime Minister thanked the President of the Federal Council of the Republic of Austria for the support of the Republic of Austria to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and European path of Georgia.
