On June 16 in Tbilisi took place the solemn events dedicated to the celebration of the Tawaf Aid. After the religious ritual, representatives of The spiritual Council of Yazidis in Georgia held a presentation of the Yezidi theological Academy (ETA) which officially opened its doors on June 24 for students. At the Yezidi theological Academy, students will undergo a three-year course of study.  Nine students of combat countries (Iraq, the Netherland, Turkey, Armenia and Georgia) have already started training at the Academy. They have a pretty intense program:

Yazidi theology lecturer - Dima Primary,

History Of Middle Asia – Dr. Hassan Majid Ali,

Arabic – lecturer Nino Peikrishvili,

English - lecturer Tamar Imerlishvili,

Introduction to religious studies – Dr. Malkhaz Songulashvili.

Lectures are held in three languages; English, Kurmanji and Russian.

We were able to take a short interview with Dr. Majid Hassan Ali in which he told a little about himself, what plans for the future, what problem he faced and what he teaches in ETA.

"I was born in Northern Iraq in a Yazidi family and wanted to study the history of my people. In 2006, he entered the University of Salahaddin-Erbil, one of the state higher education institutions in Northern Iraq and especially in Kurdistan. In 2009 he graduated from the faculty of "modern history". Three years later he entered the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany. In 2014, he continued his studies at the University of Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bambergand in 2018 defended his doctoral work on "the religious majority of Iraq".
In 2019, he decided to test himself in a new role as a member of the Board at the Yazidi theological Academy and teach the history of middle Asia.

First of all, I want to note that this Academy will help Yazidi youth to learn and expand their knowledge of the history, traditions and religion of their people. The difficulty lies in the next / so-how students from different countries it is difficult to find the best language learning, because some don't speak English, others speak this dialect “ezdiki” that the first time it is difficult to understand each other. Since my native language Iraqi-Kurmanji and I sometimes have to use Arabic terms, which leads to a little confusion on the part of students, but there is a positive side , because you learn a new dialect and in future  this  "problem" is settled. I teach them the history of Middle Asia , namely history as a material of time from ancient to modern history of Middlel Asia, as it is one of the main topics of this Academy , for example, one of the subjects of Yazidi theology , I want to say that our subjects complement each other. These courses will last three years and each semester the subjects will change, but not go beyond the Academy»
Majid also noted that he likes Georgia and its hospitality. The Academy has different programs and excursions in Georgia.
