Dr. Amy L. Beam is the author of " The Last Yezidi Genocide" and an activist who has helped Yazidis in Iraq and Syria many times. She wrote a post on Facebook page about the new humanitarian crisis in Kurdistan. Dr. Amy also asked everyone to spread this information, than our team from Yazidis.info write about this.

“Internet cut today for Sinjar and Tal Afar. Yesterday there was no electricity in Sinjar for 4 hours which is no longer normal. Kurdistan government announced it will close all IDP camps April 1, 2020. This will be a humanitarian disaster. It is impossible for 200,000 or 300,000 displaced Ezidis to return. The villages south of Shingal Mountain are uninhabitable and without the infrastructure of electricity or clean water. The houses are destroyed or deteriorating after 6 years. The security situation is dangerous for Ezidis.

Using the corona virus as an excuse, Kurdistan closed its borders two days ago. Persons can leave but are told they cannot return for at least one month. The virus is being used as a political tool to force Ezidis out of their camps and go where ? And buy food with what money ?Please share and stop this impending humanitarian crisis . I remain the only foreigner with permission to pass the checkpoints from Mosul to Sinjar and to reside here (to the best of my knowledge). Baghdad policy is keeping all foreigners and humanitarians out of Shingal unless they have extraordinary connections or perseverance (like me).”
