"In the coming weeks, you will see a new direction in our views on expansion, a package that now includes ten candidate countries and countries with a European perspective," said European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Olivér Várhelyi.

As Várhelyi said at an informal ministerial meeting of the European Union, the report mainly covers four areas.

"In this report, we not only want to move forward, but also want to ensure faster integration. This includes a growth plan for the Western Balkans, which will be based on four main principles. This is the strengthening of socio-economic reforms to accelerate the region's accession to the European Union. Secondly, before joining, we want to give these countries the opportunity to gradually integrate into the single market in the direction of the four freedoms of the European Union. The third item includes cooperation in areas such as the rule of law and democracy. Fourth, we want to provide the necessary tools to fill the economic and social cracks. We are confident that through this process we will be able to give our situation a new tool with which the EU can show that it is ready to accept new members. He is ready to create the right conditions for the admission of new members. Candidate countries should now make full use of these opportunities. In our opinion, there is no need to change the agreements for the admission of new participants. It is obvious that internal debates can take place in parallel with the accession process", Várhelyi said.
