All Georgian universities, except Free and Agrarian Universities, agreed to write off student debts - Minister

Georgian Minister of Education and Science Giorgi Amilakhvari reports that 30,000 university students will be completely written off the debts that previously suspended their student status. Earlier, the corresponding decision was made by the Prime Minister of Georgia:
"In order to implement the aforementioned decision, the Finance Minister and I were instructed to work with universities in this direction and create appropriate legal and financial mechanisms. Since Monday, we have started active work in the Ministry and a dialogue with both public and private universities on the issues of zeroing student debt… As a result, the debts of more than 30 thousand students will be fully repaid. We explain once again that students will not have to pay a single tetri, higher education institutions will reset their debt."
The authorities offered private universities to repay the debt of students (within an objective framework) and all private universities accepted this offer, except for the Free and Agrarian Universities, the Minister of Education said:
"These universities seem to have other motives. I would also like to inform you that according to our databases at the Agrarian and Free Universities, at the moment, the status of about 1000 students has been suspended due to financial debt. They will not be able to pay the debt at this stage, because, despite the fair conditions offered by us, they have not yet expressed a desire to cooperate."
The decision to reset student debts was made by the Prime Minister of Georgia: "Students will be able to restore their status, if they want, and continue their studies at their universities. This is about 40 million lari of debt," Irakli Garibashvili said.
