In Germany, an ISIS criminal was given an increased sentence for the murder of a Yazidi girl

Last week in Munich, the German authorities tightened the sentence of an ISIS woman convicted of murdering a 5-year-old Yazidi girl.
The court resumed the trial against a woman who assisted ISIS, she was married to a terrorist group and became an accomplice in the murder of a little Yazidi girl and enslavement of her mother, for which she received only 10 years in prison.
At the new trial, on August 29, 2023, the Munich High Court increased the term of imprisonment from 10 to 14 years in prison.
The Court ruled that:
• The defendant and her husband (a member of ISIS) held two Yazidis captive for six weeks as domestic slaves.
• The accused's husband bought Reda (a 5-year-old girl) and her mother after they were abducted and enslaved during the Yazidi genocide by ISIS, in 2014.
• While in captivity, in the house of terrorists, Reda and her mother were deprived of food and subjected to daily beatings.
• The couple forced the girl's mother to do housework, and forced her to pray several times a day according to their rules, despite the fact that they knew that the captives were Yazidis.
Reda was given a new name, which even the mother of the child had to handle.
• As a result, a five-year-old girl died after the defendant's husband tied her with a cable on the street and left her under the scorching sun, as punishment for the child's mistake. The defendant, encouraging the cruelty of her spouse, perfectly understood that Reda was in a life-threatening situation and just watched what was happening.
Moreover, after the girl's death, the defendant threatened her mother that she would shoot her if she did not stop crying.
• The defendant deliberately mistreated Yazidi girl and her mother, as she actively supported and promoted the ISIS policy aimed at eradicating Yazidis.
This is a fair decision that gives a convincing signal that those who commit such atrocities will be brought to justice.
Yazidis are an ancient national and religious minority that has been persecuted for centuries. The genocide of Yazidis by ISIS was one of the most terrible crimes of recent times. It is important that the perpetrators of these crimes are brought to justice.
We hope that this case will help bring some relief to the families of the victims and Yazidi community as a whole. It is also important that this case sends a signal to other potential terrorists that they will not be able to escape punishment for such crimes.
