Recently, Russian Opera singer of Yazidi origin Svetlana Kasyan came to the center of attention of the world media.  The fact is that almost immediately after the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Vatican in July 2019, Pope Francis not only personally congratulated the singer on her birthday, but also received an invitation from her to come to Russia.

The most interesting, from Putin such invitation wasn't. In any case, neither he nor the Pope said anything about it after the meeting with the head of the Vatican.. 

The Catholic website Asianews reported that the Russian Opera singer Svetlana Kasyan, who is on tour in Italy, together with her family met with the Pope, who congratulated her on her birthday. Kasyan invited him to visit Russia and visit her on Taganskaya square, where the Church of St. Martin the Confessor, the former Pope, stands. The Pontiff, in response to the invitation of the Russian Opera singer, said that he would "gladly come to Russia" and "in this case, of course," will make his visit there.

"For me, this meeting is one of the most significant in my life, and I still do not understand how I could earn such trust and attitude of the Pope. As noted by the official photographers and some other people who were present behind the scenes of this meeting, the Pope emphasized taking it without a hat, as it should be to meet a lady. Svetlana Davidovna Kasyan invited the Pope to come to her on a private visit and stay in her apartment in Moscow on Taganka street Alexander Solzhenitsyn, the former Great Communist. She also motivated this by the fact that her house is located directly opposite the Catholic Church of St. Martin the Confessor. At the same time, Yazidis, being talented people, increasingly occupy a prominent place in society, influence leading politicians. Therefore, it is possible that representatives of the Yezidi people will be able to play the role of "global mediators" between countries, peoples and leading world religions.
