According to Georgian Dream Secretary General Kakha Kaladze, the government has agreed to President Salome Zourabichvili's visit to Brussels.

He told journalists that the government, unlike the opposition, is doing everything to implement the 12 recommendations of the European Commission.

"The government has given its consent in connection with this visit. As for the 12 recommendations, the Georgian government is doing everything to implement all twelve recommendations and this process will be completed by the end of June. The opposition has not taken a single step to implement these recommendations, on the contrary, these people are doing everything to somehow obstruct the process. I do not want anyone to think that these are hindrances to the Georgian Dream, on the contrary these are steps taken against this country. Steps were taken to prevent the country from gaining status. Not only here, but abroad as well, they are running around offices, as they did during the association agreement, as they did during the visa free decision, running around and trying to prevent this decision from being made in favor of Georgia. Today these people are still fighting against our country, our people, the European future of this country and are trying to prevent Georgia from getting the status", said Kaladze.

Kakha Kaladze refrained from assessing the President's critical statements made yesterday. He is confident that the president's visit to Brussels will be used to support Georgia.

"I'm sure this tribune will be used to make sure Georgia has all the support it needs to get status. As for the president, I already made a statement yesterday that I don't want to get into polemics again and again, based on the interests of our country, of course, I care about the institution of the president as well", Kaladze said.

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili will address the European Parliament in Brussels on May 31.
