The reactions that we have seen from some members of your parliament, from members of the Government in connection with the restoration of flights, are alarming for us. This was stated by the special representative of the Secretary General of NATO in the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina in an interview with journalists in Georgia.

According to Colomina, he conveyed to the authorities a message according to which the partners understand that this is a unilateral decision by Moscow, but now everyone should support Ukraine.

"We are fully committed to the open-door policy and the decisions we made in Bucharest in 2008. Accordingly, we are fully committed to Georgia's Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

At the same time, we have said, and I have said many times since I took this position a few years ago, that there are reforms that this country must carry out, and there is strong concern about the level of implementation, the rhythm, and sometimes the content of reforms, as was the case with the law "On Foreign Agents"...

Some of the reactions that we have read and seen after Moscow's unilateral decision to resume flights are also a matter of concern for us. I conveyed this "message" to your authorities that we understand that this is a unilateral decision by Moscow, but we believe that now we all have to support Ukraine as much as we can, that this is a critical moment and that such reactions can cast a shadow in terms of Russia's evasion of sanctions.

We need to be very clear, we all need to be close to Ukraine, and we expect this from Georgia and all other partners, and the reactions that we have read, of course, concern us, and we have conveyed this concern to your authorities…

Our position is a position of concern. We don't like this decision of Moscow, but it was a unilateral decision. The concern is more about the reactions that we have seen from some members of your parliament, members of the government, because this is a critical moment to continue supporting Ukraine, which is a priority for all of us and should be a priority for all of our partners. But also, because it creates some space for potential circumvention of sanctions by Russia. We have talked with the authorities about the work they are doing to prevent circumvention of sanctions, they are doing a good job in many aspects, but the reactions that we have seen, at least, cast a shadow on the potential that Russia will find some space here to circumvent sanctions.

We were quite clear that this should not happen, and we called on the authorities to take appropriate measures to prevent this", Javier Colomina said.
