Kurdistan President Nechirvan Barzani met with Mark Bryson Richardson and British Ambassador Mark Bryson Richardson stressed the importance and necessity of implementing the Sinjar agreement.

In a statement by the press service of the President of Kurdistan said, Kurdistan President Nechirvan Barzani received British Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson Richardson.

The meeting included an exchange of views on the latest developments in relations between Erbil and Baghdad and ways to solve their problems, the internal situation in Kurdistan, and the issue of elections and the situation in Sinjar.

Regarding the situation in Sinjar, both sides stressed the importance of protecting security and stability in the region and countering the incitement of hatred against the Yazidi population.

Notably, on October 10, 2020, the federal government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government signed the Sinjar agreement, which included three points, namely the administration, security and reconstruction of the region where the Yazidi population lives. Nearly three years have passed since then, but none of the points have been fulfilled.
