The Advisory Committee of the Framework Convention has published its 5th report on Armenia, which, incidentally, highlights points where the Armenian government has quite notable shortcomings in protecting the rights of national minorities living in its country, which "Hirat Media" constantly talks about.
"Hirat Media" refers to the report of the Advisory Committee of the Framework Convention in response to the RA government's comments.
"Among the Republic of Armenia's counterclaims this time, we highlighted the negative practice of early and forced marriages of Yazidi girls, which is still considered a "Yazidi national tradition" in our state.
The Armenian government's claims that early and forced marriages in Yazidi community, as well as the problem of abduction of Yazidi girls occur or are solved with the common consent of parents and the community and are national traditions of the community, are very contradictory, and from the perspective of human rights and international law in the context of protecting the interests of the child - it is extremely unacceptable".
