A legislative initiative to ban LGBT+ demonstrations has been submitted to the Parliament of Georgia

The Conservative Movement Party, better known in Georgia as the Alt-Info movement, has appealed to the Georgian Parliament with a legislative initiative to ban LGBT+ demonstrations.

This was reported by the Georgian service of Radio Liberty, which managed to find out that the document was submitted to parliament at the end of last year.

The authors of the project are Georgi Kardava, Zurab Makharadze, Irakli and Konstantin Morgoshiya, Shota Martynenko. They appeal to the parliament on behalf of "25 thousand voters", demanding to legally prohibit public demonstrations and events of LGBT representatives.

According to the draft, it is proposed to fine the participants of the actions by GEL 3,000 or to imprison them for 25 days. A fine of 5 thousand lari or imprisonment of up to 30 days is provided for the organizers.

The Conservative Movement was registered as a party at the end of 2021. The leaders of the Alt-Info TV channel are the leaders of the party.
