European allies are discussing the simultaneous transfer of 80 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

According to Der Spiegel, it is planned to create two tank battalions, 40 tanks each.

Spain, Portugal, Finland and the Netherlands are planning to transfer tanks to Ukraine. To form a second tank battalion in Ukraine, Leopard 2 will be sent from Poland and Norway.

Prior to that, it was informally reported that at the last meeting of the Ramstein format, 12 countries agreed to supply tanks to Ukraine, subject to the consent of Germany.

According to Der Spiegel, on the evening of January 25, US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak are planning a joint telephone conversation to coordinate further steps.
