In December last year, Russia transferred the most volutes to Georgia 317.3 million US dollars

In December last year, 535.3 million US dollars or GEL 1,438.5 million were received by money transfer systems in Georgia.
This is 133.2% more than the same indicator in December 2021.

Most of it, US$ 317.31 million, was transferred from the Russian Federation in December 2022. For comparison, in December 2021, $39.70 million was received from the Russian Federation.
In second place in terms of transfers in December 2022, Italy — 43.2 million dollars.
The third place is occupied by the USA — $34.30 million,
Then there are Greece — $20.67 million and Israel — $19.05 million.
33.8 million US dollars, or 90.9 million lari, were sent abroad from Georgia in December 2022, 1.5% more than the same indicator for December 2021.
Money transfers from Russia increased significantly after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine and the arrival of Russian citizens in Georgia. Until March, up to $30 million was transferred from Russia to Georgia, but already in May the figure increased more than tenfold, amounting to almost 314 million.
In the future, the amount of transfers decreased, but since September, after the announcement of mobilization in Russia and the second wave of Russians moving to Georgia, the volume of transfers has increased again.
In total, Georgia received 4.37 billion money transfers during 2022, almost half of which came from Russia.
