Fraud by Arab women in the Yazidi provinces of Iraq

The press service of the Iraqi Police stated that police detachments carried out special tasks in several provinces of Iraq, during which they managed to arrest 63 people, including women, who engaged in extortion and witchcraft (allegedly fortune-telling) in order to obtain funds from almost a thousand victims, most of whom are women, in the provinces residence of the Yazidi minority.

The press service notes that all the statements of the victims were recorded and transferred to the competent authorities to take the necessary measures against them in accordance with the law.

More than 841 cases of extortion and threats through fake pages on the Internet were identified, through which the police were able to identify the criminals, in total, fraudsters fraudulently lured more than 50 million Iraqi dinars from the victims.
