The benefactor of the Yazidi nation Sheh Nadir Qadir died in Georgia

On November 24, 2022, Sheikh Nadir Qadir, the spiritual leader of the Yazidi community of Georgia, was killed in a traffic accident outside a Yazidi temple in Georgia.

Sheikh Nadir was born in 1951 in the small village of Jamushvan in Armenia after Sheikh Nadir graduated from high school, his family moved to Georgia.

In 2011, Sheikh Nadir was one of the founders of the Yazidi Spiritual Community of Georgia, was elected its leader and led the community until 2014. In 2020, he was appointed a permanent member of the Council of the Georgia Yazidi Spiritual Community, receiving the position of head of the Council. Sheikh Nadir was a wise, mentor and benefactor to our people and much work was done under his leadership.

Sheikh Nadir will be mourned in the Ezid Temple Hall on November 25 and 26, with a farewell ceremony on November 27 at 2 p.m.

Cultural Center of the Caucasus Yazidis offers its deepest condolences to Sheikh Nadir's family as well as to the entire Yazidi nation as a whole.
