A representative of the Yazidi minority has nominated his candidacy for the post of Minister of Migration of Iraq
The head of the Yazidi bloc in the House of Representatives, Naif Khalaf Seydou, nominated his candidacy for the post of Minister for Migration of Displaced Persons and demanded that the newly appointed Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, appoint him to this position.
Seydou stated that the deprivation of the Yazidi people's representation in successive governments has increased the damage to the Yazidi minority, no one is properly dealing with the problems of refugees and displaced persons, no one is engaged in the release of captured Yazidi women and children, the killings of representatives of the Yazidi minority have increased.
The MP pointed out that Yazidi people have a bitter experience of communicating with the Minister of Immigration and Displaced Persons, Evan Faeq, who has not done anything for the Yazidis or other minorities.
"Despite the fact that Yazidis are considered an important component and the presence of hundreds of thousands of them are currently living in camps for displaced persons, there is still hope that the appointed Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani will act fairly and wisely in the ongoing dialogues in the formation of the government, since we are the legitimate representative of the Yazidi a component in the House of Representatives", said Seydou.
Naif Khalaf Seydou called on the Prime Minister-designate to appoint a representative from the Yazidi minority as a minister in the new cabinet of the Ministry of Migration and Displaced people to restore Yazidi territories and save them from the current problems they are currently facing.
